What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Sergio Borges was an elite level Ironman distance triathlete. He has dedicated the last 25 + years to studying the ART and science of triathlon training. During this time, he has competed in hundreds of races of all distances including 23 Ironman races around the world (9:38 PR), over 60 half ironmans (4:12 PR), qualifying for the Hawaii Ironman World Championships seven times. Sergio has also been nominated as "All American" by USA Triathlon, 10 times. After a decade of investment banking, he decided to apply his expertise to triathlon coaching. In 2003 after contesting the traditional training for many years, Sergio developed the innovative and effective training method - Inverted Periodization.

How did you get started teaching?
I started coaching / teaching in the early 90's. First we're friends ask9ng me to help the, with their running, swimming an triath;on techniques and training. Later word of mouth started.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have coached over 1,000 athletes from kids to older adults. There are no limits to whatyou can learn and evolve if done it right !
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Experience is very important but also the ability the coach has to communicate with the athlete. It's not about how much the coach knows but how efficient he/she is in passing the information.
