About
My name is Tori and I am a Yoga Instructor!
I have my 200hr YTT and am registered through the Yoga Alliance, as well as an addition 50hr YTT in Sculpt Yoga. I received my training through CorePower Yoga Studios and I specialize in Power Vinyasa as well as Sculpt Yoga. I am CPR/AED certified.
I found Yoga after years of struggling with chronic health conditions. Yoga has brought me relief, healing, joy, and a like-minded community. It is my mission to share the healing experience of Yoga with others.
I provide One-On-One sessions, Weekly Group Classes, and Host Special Events + Workshops (i.e. bachelorette parties and corportate wellness workshops). I also have extensive experience teaching and working with children (ages 2 - 16).
My classes are based on playful mind-body connection; facing challenges with a smile. Whether you want to find individual exercises to support your healing journey, a weekly class to hold you accountable, or an fun event for a weekend trip, I can help!
I am happy to teach virtually, come to you, or meet in a common space.
I am looking forward to working together : )
I love finding joy in movement! Exercise doesn't have to be so serious.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In a one on one sessions, I like to get to know a student's physical and mental health goals. We go through injuries or conerns to find movement that is supportive and safe. And most importantly, find a theme or mantra to guide us emotionally through our physical work.
In a group or event, I love to discuss theme. Why we are here and what we want to celebrate or cultivate? Then share movement that teaches to the midline, offering variations so that every body feels welcome.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started teaching?
I grew up as an athlete (gymnastics, soccer, lacrosse) playing sports my whole life. I went to NYU Tisch for drama, where I studied dance, yoga, and other forms of movement. However, after being diagnosed with a chronic illness, I found I couldn't participate in my previous activties. I was struggling with pain and exhaustion and missed my fitness community. Then I found Yoga. Through Yoga I found a new community of like-minded people and found physical healing. Yoga is gentle and low-impact, yet challanging. I wanted to share the emotional and physical healing I experienced with other, so I became an instructor!
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all types of students. I mainly teach adults (18+) and I teach all levels (beginnger to advanced). I also have extensive experience working with and teaching children.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been teaching virtually throughout the pandemic and absolutly love it. It allows people from all over to connect and share a common experience.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Starting out on a new fitness journey can be nerve-wracking, so find an instructor you connect with an makes you feel comfortable, meeting you where you are physically. Safety and training should always be your top priority when looking to find an instructor.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Do you need one-on-one connection or does a group format motivate you?
