Hi, I'm Michael Chodosh of Chodosh Guitar. I play lead guitar and am the singer/songwriter for the band Cherry Veil. We will start studying your style of music right away. Whether you're into rock, blues, jazz, country, classical, flamenco, folk, funk, R&B, all types of world, ethnic and religious or spiritual sounds we will cover how to play those songs that will bring you toward your goal. On top of that, you can expect scale studies, chord studies and if you like, theory, improvising, composing, arranging, recording and even music business studies. I've been a musician all my life and I'm still studying this stuff myself! Most of all, we will be helping you to express and develop who you truly are as a musician. Private students who attend classes at the studio also attend group lessons for free! You are in for an adventure!

I love teaching what I love and that's music.  It is such a pleasure to help others find and express their own musical talent and interests.  As well, I love to write music and to perform it for people.

I've been performing and teaching music for most of my life.  It's wonderful to be around something that seems to transcend those things in life which involve the ego.

I've owned a guitar for 40 years and could play the basic chords. I'm now taking lessons from Michael so that I can use more of the potential of my guitar. What an easy going and upbeat instructor. Would recommend to anyone from beginner to advanced.

Q & A

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We sit down and talk about goals, write them down, and I ask questions about music styles they love and where the student sees him/her self now and in the future.  Then I set up their online workstation which they will use to help with their lesson at home.  We get to work on a song that they would like to learn right then, usually a scale or a few and whatever tools they will need to achieve their goals. The workstation plays their song for them and along with what I've written down, reminds them of what they need to do, how often and for hoe long. We have fun!
