What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My first priority is finding out what they already know. From there I need to understand what kind of music they like. This way I have an understanding of which direction to begin. Desire to learn is key. To get someone started in the direction the would like to go brings true results. They are happy to practice, and time on instrument is key.
