About

Steven Cleveland is the founder of Courtside Records, a music studio based in Greenwood Village. He is a member of the band, Ping Trace, lending his expertise and experience with electronic music production, synthesizers and soft synths to the group. His work with Ping Trace has captivated international record labels, with two releases on Black Hole Recording/Magik Muzik in 2011, and their most recent release “Resolution” in July 2012 on Spanish deep house label, Flame Records. Steven has been working with electronic music production since 1995 with Cakewalk Pro 5. He soon added Cubase to his arsenal, along with Sonic Foundry’s Acid. In 2007, he began working extensively with Logic. His proficiency in various digital audio workstations is considerable and his instruction technique is well developed over many years of working with students and other artists. He is practiced at composing, remixing, mixing, and live performance. He and his team enjoys sharing their knowledge with their students and their journey into sound.

I have no experience with playing an instrument and Steve taught me to play Ghost Riders in the Sky on the guitar in 2 lessons. Excellent teaching methods!

Worked with Steve at Courtside several times. He is always very knowledgeable and efficient on all the DAW software and plug-ins (Logic, Ableton Live, etc.). He can quickly turn an concept into a composition. Highly recommended!

Frequently asked questions

I offer the first half-hour lesson free of charge, so that we can get to know one another. It is important for the student to meet me and to see how we work together before making a commitment to move forward with lessons.

I have been a guitarist, songwriter/composer and producer since the 1990s. Several of my recordings have been licensed for commercial use, and my work has appeared on multiple record labels. As an instructor, I have taught private guitar and music production lessons since 2012. I have also served as a guest artist in Denver Public Schools. I hold a Master of Music Business from Full Sail University.

$28 per half-hour or $50 per hour. Lessons are billed one month in advance.

My students are teens (13+) and adults. I specialize in beginning guitar and music production on Logic Pro, Ableton Live and Garage Band.
