I help people over the age of 50 take control of their health and feel their very best.  You probably know that exercise helps you achieve a healthy weight.  Did you know it can also help you stand up taller, prevent or decrease pain and neuropathy, protect bone density, improve digestion, and sleep better? I set my clients up with a program that fits their lifestyle and needs, so they can maintain their results for a lifetime. My training style is personable and positive, and we try to have a little fun along the way!  Exercise may not always be easy, but it shouldn't feel like torture either. I believe exercise can feel good ... View Profile

I am originally from India, where I used to teach Yoga voluntarily because I loved people feeling better out of it. After coming to USA I realized I am born with the purpose of helping and healing people and that's why I chose this path. Yoga is not just a bunch of exercises that make you slim and fit, it's about knowing more about yourself and diving deeper into yourself. Though it's totally your choice to choose it for physical fitness or for your spiritual practice as well. ... View Profile

My approach to yoga stresses anatomy and science. I provide structural direction to learn correct form, prevent injury, and formulate a focus for improving strength/ flexibility or recovery. I teach dance much the same way, with concrete cues and an appreciation for the strengths and weaknesses of students as individuals.

I focus on the whole body, I want to make sure that you are set up for success and have all the tools you need to be successful after our time is done together. I also am big on authentic connection and movement. You won't be successful or on the path towards a lifestyle that will last, if you hate the movements and changes. If you have an authentic connect to yourself and what you are doing, you are going to CRUSH it.

How much do yoga classes cost?

Frequently asked questions

How much do yoga classes cost?

The average cost of single group sessions at yoga studios across the country is $15 to $20. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.
