Hello! I love to teach students of all ages, at any level, and for any style. I am an effective teacher with a supportive, kind, and encouraging disposition. I’ve performed and recorded with Bela Fleck and many other amazing musicians. I perform, tour and record with my World Music Jazz/Flamenco fusion group, Miguel Espinoza Fusion (miguelespinozafusion.com). Our music consists of all my own original compositions. Though I’m extremely well-versed in a variety of styles and traditions, I’m an authentic virtuoso Flamenco guitarist, so if you’ve ever been curious about playing Flamenco guitar, allow me to introduce you to it! I can help you learn Flamenco/Latin techniques and progressions to add to your own style.

*Traditional and modern Flamenco/Latin grooves and progressions

My daughter has been taking guitar lessons from Miguel for the last two years. Hes so gifted at meeting her where shes at. Hes great at working with kids (shes 11) and engaging her with learning music that she loves (shes in her Taylor Swift era). She loves playing and continues to improve with his skilled guidance and enthusiasm. Miguel is a rare gem - a professional guitarist at the top of his field who also excels as a teacher. We feel fortunate to have found him!

In my mid-50s I got the bug to learn guitar. Something I’d always wanted to do. I am so glad I found Miguel after having had mediocre (at best) experiences with other guitar teachers.
Miguel has such a passion for, and skill with, the guitar. He is fluent in all genres: pop, rock, classical, country and, his forte, flamenco. As an instructor, he works great with all ages: kids, teens and adults.
Miguel leads his students in the fundamentals of guitar using the style and genre of music of their primary interest. If you have the basics already, he can lead you to mid-level and on to very advanced techniques.
All you have to do is listen to him play and you know you’re in great hands. His smile and passion is genuine. He is patient, kind, with great energy and very encouraging. He can see what you’re trying to do and provide immediate feedback on any corrections you need to make.
Try one lesson with him and you’ll be hooked.

Miguel has helped my flamenco guitar playing immensely. He is very patient and extremely knowledgeable about flamenco and most other styles of guitar.
He has helped my playing immensely and corrected my technique which has allowed me to play faster and with more precision. He has also helped me continue to learn the challenging flamenco rhythms.
I would recommend him for any style of guitar playing because he always has a cool groove or tasty way of playing a lick that will jumpstart your interest in playing. He always adds some style and has some amazing rhythmic approaches.
I’ve been studying with him for over four years now. Before I began studying with him, I had pretty much abandoned Flamenco and had become frustrated with my playing in general having played for decades.
He brings a lot of positivity and light. Would highly recommend.

Miguel is a true master of the guitar, but he doesnt come across that way. He is understanding, encouraging and always has another way to approach a problem if you are stumbling on something. He is so much fun to learn from and over the three years Ive been taking lessons from him, I have progressed dramatically. There are not enough superlatives to capture his style! If you are thinking about starting a stringed instrument or advancing your skills, you can do no better than Miguel!

Miguel is a world class guitarist and a world class human. Whether it’s theory, technique, or just music in general, he is able to connect with individuals of any musical ability. He approaches teaching with true care, always aware of the interests and strengths of his students. His knowledge of music is profound; every class has been inspiring as he draws from a well of knowledge rooted in personal experience. Miguel is also flexible with technical needs, and is effective teaching online and across time zones (I regularly take lessons from him from Italy). After many years learning from him, it is clear to me that Miguel above all wants to share music with the world… and anyone that sits across from him is invited to the table!
