About
Hi, I'm Bob Croft. I've taught guitar lessons privately since 1978. I've taught at several music stores over the years, and I have also taught guitar at the University on Colorado at Denver.
I teach fundamental musical skills and apply them to whatever kind of music motivates you. This includes basic techniques, warming up, how to practice, how to read music (standard musical notation, chord symbols, rhythmic notation, TAB), ear training, music theory, and improvisation. I address a wide variety of playing techniques in a thorough and musical manner. I also work with non-beginners who may need help with audition preparation, or to address gaps in their skill set to elevate their playing, or prepare them for musical settings that may be outside their stylistic comfort zone. I'm also a highly experiences music transcriptionist. Capable of doing note for note transcriptions, as well as adaptations and arrangements to suit the level of the individual student.
I'm a published composer with 24 years of experience which includes getting airplay worldwide on both TV and radio. I'm the author of the book, "Reading Chops For Guitarists," which is a specialized guitar text that has sold hundreds of copies throughout the USA.
As a performer, I have played guitar for numerous shows including shows produced by Starkey Productions, as well as Second City Works. I've played in bands that have opened of Reba McEntire, Michael Martin Murphy, Kenny Loggins, John Denver, Lou Rawls, and others. I currently perform regularly with several bands, as well as a solo guitarist.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I evaluate every student to find out where they're at, and what they want to get out of their guitar lessons.

I've been teaching guitar lessons for over 35 years. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Music from the University of Colorado at Denver. Where I have also been an honorary faculty member as an Applied Guitar instructor, as well as the director of their pop music ensemble.
