    Frequently asked questions

With new students that have previous guitar experience I assess their level of competence, then develop a lesson plan that fills gaps in knowledge by using a detailed outline of the points of guitar playing, technique as well as music theory.

For beginning students I start with the basics of chords, reading standard notation and lead sheets, then we work into scales, rhythm, theory and ear training.

I have studied under various local professors, in guitar, piano and voice and I have perfomed locally and nationally for over 30 years.

My lessons are $30 per half hour taught at Universal Music Store in Thornton CO.

I started with a couple students at home, then went on to start teaching at Universal Music over 28 years ago as a subcontractor.

I have taught all types of students from all types of backgrounds. Kids at the age of 5 up to adults at the age of 75. If someone has a passion to learn I have the passion to teach them.

Helping one of my top students prepare and then to get into M.I. in L.A. by means of some of my varoius levels of teaching material to me writing a lettter of recommendation to help him get accepted.

Try to find a teacher with not only a solid education and musical background, but one with a proven track record of performance and successful student accomplishments.

What are my short term musical goals? What are my long term goals? How much time can I dedicate to practice and improvement? What skills do I really want to gain from my lessons and my teacher? Do my expectaions and needs match what the teacher presents?
