Yoga - Breathing is the focal point of what I teach. Although a good form of physical activity, yoga isn't a "workout". It is a way to access the nervous system through the body, so one can create an assemblance of balance. I use gentle, restorative postures to create flexibility in the body, mind, and nervous system. When working with me, you learn coherent breathing that meets you where you are at: tired, it helps to energize you. Wired, it helps you to relax. My focus is teaching you tools for defining and handling stress effectively. Diet & Lifestyle - I help my clients develop healthy habits around eating. I am plant based, but that ... View Profile

Yoga found me in 2011 when I was fresh out of high school. It was my escape from working two jobs, going to culinary school, and a welcomed switch up from my usual brutal workout routines. Yoga helped me to create confidence and stability not only within the views I had of myself and my body but also in the world I was creating around me. After traveling from studio to studio, experimenting with multiple styles of yoga, and experiencing the communities each one has to offer I found my home at Container Collective in Lakewood Colorado in 2016. There I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training through Baptiste Institute's Expand Your Power u ... View Profile

I've been lucky that over my 30+ years of sharing this world through the lens of a camera I've been able to photograph a diverse assortment of places, landscapes and environments. I'm also a geek when it comes to cameras and the latest technology. My passion for sharing what I've learned over the years inspired me to develop my series of coursework.  You'll be challenged, we'll set goals, and you'll become a better photographer. I picked up my first SLR in 1984 while living in San Diego. Ansel Adams was my idol - that left me with piles of B&W negatives. I started rock climbing a few years later and moved onto shooting color slides u ... View Profile

How much do yoga classes cost?

Frequently asked questions

How much do yoga classes cost?

The average cost of single group sessions at yoga studios across the country is $15 to $20. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.
