doTERRA Essential Oils Background

I discovered doTERRA on my journey into healthy living and have been using these amazing oils since 2014.  I have taken dozens of on-line training courses in the science of the oils. First I wanted to learn and use them on myself and my family and then I quickly realized my passion extended to assisting others in understanding how to use the oils and obtain the maximum benefits and healthy use.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I have them fill out an intake form,

We meet and talk about goals, concerns, needs

Our first session includes a great deal of Q and A as I assess their fitness, breathing, discomfort, etc.

We set goals and time tables

I develop new routines for them each time I work

I make myself available to answer quetions via email or text between sessions

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have two advanced degrees in Education from the University of Virginia.

I was a school teacher for 20 years.

I have immersed myself in online training since 2014 Yoga Alliance training

There is a comprehensive resume link on my website.  Click on Yoga tab.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Yes my privates are $80 session unless I have to travel more than 10 miles.  Then there is a fee.

I discount if you buy a package.  $75/session if you buy package of 5

$70/session if you buy a package of 10

How did you get started teaching?

I was a school teacher for 20 years in the high school and college classroom.  I practiced yoga during that time.  When I left the traditional classroom, I decided to devote myself to teaching health, yoga and about nutrition and essential oils.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students from ages 8 to 89.  I have worked with pregnant students, students coming back from surgeries, cancer and facing autoimmune diseases that are chronic such as RA, diabetes, thyroid issues.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I worked with an individual right after Hurricane Irma.  She found me on the web.  She was skeptical that she could do yoga since she is recovering from knee and back surgery.  A few days after our first session, she contacted me and said: "she was quite amazed at how much better she had felt since my yoga session and was excited to be seeing me again."

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Being good at yoga does not make a good teacher.  Being good at teaching, listening, observing and helping you feel better is the criteria you should be evaluating.  I am close to 60.  I cannot do a lot of the yoga moves you see in popular media, but I understand about yoga and healing and if that is what you are looking for, then you should hire me.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What are their goals?

What do they believe about their health?

What are they willing to do to reach their goals?

Do they want easy or hard?

Do they want encouragement or pushing or a combination of both?
