Angri Yogi
About
I like to make yoga approachable to anyone. To do this I keep things light and fun and try to avoid an overly serious atmosphere.
As a student of Iyengar yoga I acknowledge that all students and bodies are unique. I enjoy finding the perfect solution for you to reach your personal yoga goals.
There is no greater reward than making someone's life easier and more enjoyable when you introduce therapeutic movement into their life. Often our physical ailments are a result of habits born out of our lifestyle. I enjoy discovering these habits together to improve your daily life.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before we meet I provide a questionaire to fill out. This questionaire covers your goals, body aches/injuries, and experience with yoga. I give this to you ahead of time so that you have time to think about the answers.
Based on your answers I create a light routine for our first interaction that helps me assess your body. From here I build more customized yoga sequences and exercises that work with your body to achieve your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Prior to achieving my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification this fall, I completed my online yoga certification in 2016. In addition to my certifications, I bring with me over 10 years of consistent practice.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$45 for a half hour
$60 for an hour
How did you get started teaching?
After practicing for a few years I had a call to pursue my teacher training simply to evolve my understanding of the practice. I thought I achieved this with my online certification, but after I began teaching I found that I had a deep need to help people and wanted to pursue a program that focused on therapeutic yoga. I found this knowledge at The Yoga Lounge in Woodstock, IL.
The Yoga Lounge relies on the Iyengar tradition, which utilizes props to not only make poses achievable for all bodies, but to create new sensations in old poses.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with beginners and athletes and have my own personal experience of practicing yoga while pregnant.
I find great joy working with people who consider themselves "bad" at yoga and enjoy solving the riddles of the body.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I attended a seminar/workshop led by esteemed yoga instructor, Gabriel Halpern, that focused on therapeutic twists and inversions to heal the body.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take time to consider what you are looking to get out of a practice and what your own experience level is at. Then, make sure you communicate this with any instructors and keep that dialogue open so both of you can continue to grow from the experience.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It's important to be upfront about any illness or injuries. It's helpful to be specfic, but even just stating the bare minimum (ex: neck pain, high blood pressure) is helpful.
