About
Living in Lexington since October 2020 and I haven't seen anyone providing the type of training that I provide at the level that I provide it.
I love to teach and I also recognize that the more I teach and the the better my students are, the better I will become.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach out of my house; teens and adults only please. I am also available to come to you or your gym or local park. I teach one-on-one or small groups (husband/ wife; parent/ teen; co-workers etc.). Most of my students start with an interest in boxing or grappling. From that foundation it becomes a very short step to weapon training.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold advanced black belt degrees in several styles/ systems. I also have a college degree in educational psychology; so many outstanding martial artists are not good instructors. I have been praised by those in the industry for being an outstanding communicator.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge hourly rates based on how frequently you train.
Individual
1 per week - 45 minute lesson - $25
Monthly (4 total)
1 per week - 45 minute lesson - paid in advance - $75
*discounts are available for partner training, small groups and military/LEO
12 - 45 minute lessons - $250
How did you get started teaching?
I was always going to be a teacher, but it wasn't until I found martial arts that I knew what I would be teaching. One must love what they do in order to pass it on to enthusiastic students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all ages, although, I am no longer teaching youth students. My top students are a 53yo male doctor, a 21yo female student and a 35yo male electrician, 50+yo mom, 50yo construction foreman, 60yo piano player, and 52yo male homicide detective. I can work with anyone that is willing to learn.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher that KNOWS HOW TO TEACH, not just perform.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Q. Can I train with <fill in the blank> injury or limitation?
A. #trainingHaastyle means doing what you can and not worrying about what you can't. Martial arts training should not break down your body.
Q. I just want to get in shape. Will your training do that for me?
A. You can be in ANY kind of shape and still be successful in my program. You will gain improved health and improved motivation to get/ stay healthy. You DO NOT have to be in shape already to train. In my experience, one of the most used excuses for not training is being "out of shape" - this is a big mistake, my program demands of you only what you have to give and we are always looking for progress. In fact, my program is a great place to start.
Q. Can you come to me at my house/ work?
A. Yes
Q. Do I need a uniform?
A. No, we train in street/ gym clothes.
Q. Do you offer any other discounts?
A. haha - I'll tell you what, since you made it this far, I will make your first lesson FREE, otherwise see the prices above and let me know if you have any questions.
