What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We provide a one on one consultation prior to the first class. An instructor will work with you one on one at minimum for your first class to ensure proper technique and comfort level with the program.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our staff has a variety of backgrounds to assist new people from all age groups and fitness levels. Each instructor has a background in Kickboxing, or related fitness classes.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We offer monthly memberships that can be evaluated for each new person to fit their budget and fitness goals. Unlimited monthly memberships range from $75 to $95 per month. We also offer a Per Class option of $10 per class, or punch card.
How did you get started teaching?
The owner, Frank, struggled with weight most of his adult life. He tried several diets, quick weight loss fads, but always ended up back where he started, plus 5 pounds. In his early forties, he finally found a nutritional program he could stick to. The next step was to find an exercise program he could stick to. He discovered kickboxing and fell in love with the variety and overall body workout. After taking classes for about 9 months he began instructing, and was able to open his own kickboxing gym.
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with students between the ages of 13 and 65. We have worked with people that would like to lose 100lbs, and people that are looking to tone and tighten.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
A kickboxing gym and its staff should be there to correct your form to avoid injury and progressively assist you to get better with each class. They should motivate you to do your best, and not compete with anyone other than yourself. If you feel judged, you should find a new gym. If you feel lost in class with no guidance, you should find a new gym. If you don't enjoy going to class, you should find a new gym. It has to be a place you are excited to go to because you know you have the support and encouragement to reach your own goals.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What about your current workout routine do you like or dislike? What motivates you to come to class?
