My name is Bill Mooney I've been playing and learning music since I was 8 years old. I started with piano. By the time I was 10, I decided I wanted to play guitar so without giving my age away, I've been playing and studying for some 50 years. At a early age I discovered that just learning a lick or a chord here and there was cool but didn't give me the roots of writing a song or understanding what my favorite band was playing. I was lucky to meet a great teacher Don Mock when I lived in Seattle. He taught me the language of music, the scales, the chords, and how they fit together. With this knowledge it open the gates to understanding music. Now I had to apply it to my guitar. It was a eye opener and has made such a difference in my playing, approach and understanding and where I wanted to go with my music. Some of the early frustrations I had when I was younger were gone. I understood at this point I needed to gain as much knowledge as I could, the more I knew the more I could play what I wanted. So off I went to find great music teachers, and I found them. All my music instructions were in Seattle Wa. at the time. Don Mock: /Fusion, Rock. and Progressive Jazz Al Turay: I was lucky to study with this Jazz Great, Black Academy of Music: A experience I'll never forget. Cornish School of Music: Band Introduction Bob Gronenthal: Latin, Rock, Classical, Fusion If your looking for a guitar teacher that will give you the building blocks to understanding and play music, I'm your guy.
