Gene Dunn's Shotokan Karate Dojo, founded in 1994, is a dedicated martial arts school located in Brooklyn, New York, and surrounding areas. They focus on teaching students of all ages to achieve their fullest potential through high-level martial arts instruction. The Dojo has been serving the community for over 30 years, helping both adults and children feel stronger, healthier, and more confident. They offer a cooperative, non-competitive learning environment and preserve the traditional self-defense basis of martial arts while also welcoming modern innovations in practice, instruction, and leadership.

We have been teaching Shotokan Karate/Fitness & Athletic Conditioning for over 25 years. We also offer private lessons which can be tailored to fit your own specific needs and wants. Our goals are to have students focus, believe in themselves, become disciplined & to build strength mentally & physically. Which will then carry over into all aspects of their lives. Our students rage from the ages of 4 years to adult. Every class we offer is age and level specific. This ensures every student is receiving the instruction that is appropriate for them....
