My teaching approach: I started guitar in 1975. After Berklee, I taught in many locations (Berklee-Boston, Sam Ash Music Institute-Manhattan, Trebas Recording Institute-Hollywood, Burbank Music Academy-Burbank.) I also have a successful 20+ year career as a composer/music editor for film and tv in LA. My influences are: Pet Metheny, Steve Howe, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Todd Rundgren, XTC, Elvis Costello, Stevie Wonder, Jellyfish. My guitar lessons take place in: The teacher's studio or the student's home Guitar lessons typically take place on these days and hours: I'm very flexible and can teach at most times, most days. Guitar Techniques: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Open tuning, Fingerstyle, Slide Guitar, Vocal Accompaniment, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Reading Music, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Song Writing, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: I check the student's ear for pitch and rhythm, the student's hands for strength and coordination, and the student's level of artistic expression. A guitar lesson with me might entail the following: I teach everything from acoustics, signal flow, theory, composition, technique, and sight reading.
