CJ’s Bass Lessons
About
I strive to hone your technique and make you the best player you can be. I have various useful techniques to pass down from my teachers. I also hope to help train ones ear and musicianship so they can play comfortably with others. I have played for about a decade now, I have spent time learning upright bass, electric bass, guitar, and some piano. I am strongest on the electric bass, as I spent many years studying under a jazz fusion artist. I can teach various styles from rock, blues, funk, and jazz as well as techniques such as finger style, tapping, slapping, and proper muting. If you're looking to take your bass playing to the next level, then I'm your guy.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by taking a look at where the students technique is at. I usually like to work in new or improved techniques and teach songs and exercises that incorporate them. I also like to help improve the songs the stundent performs as well as teach new songs that the individual enjoys. I also teach scales, modes, and exercises that get the player used to the whole neck. I also teach some basic theory and reading.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied under Jim Wynn, a jazz fusion bassist from buffalo for four years. I also studied upright bass under a private teacher a few years ago.
