What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With new students who have little experience on the instrument I like to get a feel for why they want to play guitar. What is their taste in music and what are their goals? I love teaching every student to read music because it is the best way I know for them to really master the basic principles that will carry them to their goals. I try to get them working on songs they'd like to learn within a few weeks.
What types of students have you worked with?
I teach students as young as 5 years old up through folks who are learning as a retirement project.
