How did you get started teaching?

Upon my retirement from my state employment I began taking violin lessons.  My violin instructor was asked if she knew any guitar teachers.  I began teaching guitar and now I am teaching guitar, ukulele, and piano.  Since our December recitals I have gotten several new students.

What types of students have you worked with?

Guitar, ukulele, piano students from age 5 to age 65.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

I can show a student pretty much all they need to know, but practice at home is mandatory to succeed.
