What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Finding out what they do know. Insuring that they start with the basics and work up. Find out what they'd like to learn and what types of music they enjoy to insure practice of techniques taught in real time applications.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
AAS in Music College Of Marin, 1 Year Classical guitar and voice Hochstein Music, AAS in Electical Engineering and Audio, 35 years Touring, Recording and writing experience with International, National and regional Acts. Albums on Chrysalis, Capital, Atlantic Records and many Indie labels. Writing and performance credits on all. 30 years teaching guitar and bass.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My time in all areas in substantially lower than anyone with my experience and credentials. The standard rate is $50/hr for teaching, recording, engineering, reapairs, consulting, etc and $75/hr for live shows.
How did you get started teaching?
Was asked by neighbors and friends if I could teach their children and found that I have a real knack for it and the patience of a saint!
