Benjamin Ellis Guitar Lessons

My teaching approach:

I have a bachelors degree in guitar (classical) performance from SUNY Fredonia and a Masters in Classical Guitar Performance from Syracuse University. I have extensive experience with a verity of musical styles as well as performing. Touring with both classical ensembles and rock bands has given me valuable insights into both the act of performing as well as the business aspect of being a musician.

Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following:

The fist lesson is a usually more of a planning session. The student and I discuss their interests and concerns. This will allow the lessons to be structured for the students needs.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

The most important goals are those of the student. I hope to use each lesson as a stepping stone towards those goals. Each lesson will cover technical as well as conceptual aspects of guitar playing. Theory and history are important tools of the trade so they will be reinforced with every lesson.
