About
Hello
(Please note my rate is based upon an hour and 15 minute lesson as opposed to the normal 1 hr. lesson. The benefit it provides is it allows us plenty of time to review and correct any problems from the prior week's lesson whle still providing plenty of time to work on new material...)
My name is Bruce and I am going to consolidate what I feel is the most important information about myself regarding my unique background and why I will have you enjoying and playing guitar music in the shortest amount of time.....(after the first lesson. I promise there will be no long boring sales pitch.
I have been playing all styles of guitar for nearly 35 yrs. And teaching for nearly 15 years. I teach pop, country, rock, Rand B, jazz, bluegrass, classical, folk, singer songwriter styles as well as both fingerpicking and flatpicking technique
I have been a professional touring musician as well as a studio guitarist on hundreds of recording sessions, many of which have been with the top artists recording hit records. I have worked with Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, James Taylor, Steely Dan and many other top artists.
Why is this so important when it is a fact that a well rounded excellent well experienced musician can have very little to do with being an excellent instructor? Simply because the requirements are very very different!
Of course experience is terribly important but that's only a part of the package;
The guitar teacher must trulylove teaching which u will know is true or not after your first lesson.
If the only reward your guitar instructor receives is the money from the lesson then you have chosen the wrong teacher'.If the teacher loves teaching. he or she won't be focused on the clock but instead focused on the student's progress.
The most valuable part of having lots of playing experience for the student is being able to package the important shortcuts and player secrets and tips which can only be known by the experienced musician and then added to the lessons in small bite size nuggets to accelerate the learning experience. We will ectract the best aspects of each style and piece by piece work them into lessons as we proceed-this "approach" will turn you into more then simply a guitar but a guitar player who is a "musician".....that's what the goal must be with any competent experienced instructor or you will always sound like a beginner
I have 26 guitars in my home studio and no need to buy your own guitar till u decide if you want to go head
Please take advanatage of my intro.lesson to see if we are make sure we are comfortable with each other.
I strongly suggest you meet with a couple of different teachers to find the one best suited to your personality and musical goals,,,,,
Thank you for your time and interest in reading my bio.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I offer a sliding scale when appropriate if u r highly motivated to learn but are under great financial pressure (ex....as in some young single mothers who want their children to learn or they themselves are eager to learn as well as other situations requiring a sliding scale.
"ALSO-OUR FIRST LESSON IS TOTALLY FREE 2nd LESSON IS ONLY $10-GIVING EACH OF US A CHANCE TO FEEL WE ARE COMFORTABLE WITH EACH OTHER 😆🎶🎶
How did you get started teaching?
As a result of many people approaching me over the many years of playing in clubs and asking if I taught privately.
After teaching and seeing the enjoyment which the first few students felt as they began this wonderful journey I found myself enjoying their progress as much as they did so I decided to expand my student base.
I now teach only because I enjoy teaching motivated students and try to keep my students base fairly small which allows me to extend the lesson time when needed since I rarely set-up back to back lessons
What types of students have you worked with?
From absolute beginners to advanced
From children to adult students who have wanted to play guitar but wrongly thought they were too old to start.
My oldest beginning student (to date) as been 72 yrs. old!!
