About
I am a professional live performing musician and teacher. I've taught music for most of my life, and in that time I've learned a great deal about how to communicate ideas to students of all ages.
Teaching requires many skills, not just having a clear understanding of the material, but also having a keen ability to read the student and understand how they process information. People lean in different ways, and the sign of a great teacher is when they study the student to best understand how to communicate with them.
The teacher must be willing to learn from the student. Then you have the perfect environment for sharing knowledge.
When working with a student I spend time trying to understand what the person wants to get out of the experience and then I make sure to tailor our work together towards those goal.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I discuss what the students goals are, the music they like to listen to and then explain how we will together design a plan for learning the fundamentals of the instrumnent, and then applying those new skills towards the music they want to play.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors of music from William Patterson University. I teach at many schools including The Manhattan School of Music, The Storm King School, and The Reynolds School.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing depends of length of the lesson, and whether the lessons are at my location or they require travel
