About
Hello, my name is Evan. I'm a professional mixed martial artist and chess instructor dedicated to personal improvement. I aid my clients in becoming the best they can be & reaching their goals. Typically I'll assess your goals and skills to establish a course of how lessons will most benefit you. Beginner to intermediate students will have a lot to learn and advanced students will get into more live situations.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I'll get a feel for what you want to work on specifically, what your personal goals are and then do my best to help you achieve them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been training in different styles for quite some time. I've traveled the world and stayed in Brazil for 10 months just to train to be a pro mma fighter. I'm always learning & growing through research or direct instruction as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes, I charge $50 an hour. That pays for my services and helps with my expenses. I aim to help anywhere I can, whether it's diet/nutrition, martial arts, general exercise/strength and conditioning, & mental support as well. I'm not looking to show you the same thing over and over, I want to help you be the best you, you can be!
How did you get started teaching?
I initially started helping with kids classes at my home gym. After some setbacks I've now started instructing at a fitness boxing gym as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I do not discriminate, anyone and everyone, young and old, is welcome.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm on the tail end of an unhealthy relationship looking forward to growth and defining my path as an individual/single father.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find the person who's right for you. Go visit or reach out to them to see what they're like and how they interact with people.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What qualities am I looking for in an instructor? What type of training/lessons am I looking for & what do I want to gain/do with what I learn? How much time and effort am I ready to give? What are some things that I absolutely must have.
