Shift Grandview, LLC
About
ShiftTM began in the summer of 2012 as a home to mindfulness in movement. Our classes are rooted in experiencing rather than analyzing – so they all wind a meditative thread creating peace, community, and a deep sense of awareness. We have enough analyzing in our days, Shift classes balance that to encourage stasis in the mind/body/spirit. The studio is located in Grandview Heights, Ohio.
Lucy Bartimole, the owner, loves her private work with people who want to enhance their sense or appreciation of the movement arts: tai chi, qigong, yoga, meditation. Students work on everything from building energy through qigong and tai chi, enhancing understanding of yoga postures to simply build physical balance.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Here’s what to expect:
- Private sessions are private. No one else is in the studio but you and your instructor.
- “With Pain, There’s No Gain” Private sessions focus on each individual’s unique body structure and mechanics so that foundations are built honoring the uniqueness of you. Listening to your body and coming back to your senses with balanced, healing, mindful movement is what we offer.
- Awareness. Private sessions deepen awareness, focus, clarity, strength, relaxation, and open students to the many layers of practice that make it rich, rewarding and full.
- Meeting needs. Private sessions are built based on what you need – whether it’s simply feeling the strength of your body, easing the busyness of your mind, building clarity, moving through a difficult situation, or creating a life long practice.
- Options for Time and Money. We offer 30 minute, 45 minute and 60 minute private sessions and encourage you to know what’s good for you.
Here’s what we do:
- Prepare! We’ll meet and talk and create a savory meal of movement or meditation (or both) for you to practice and refine during the session.
- Homework? What?! You will be given homework to practice between sessions so that the work during the private session is supported and builds.
- Choice. It’s always your choice to do your homework. There’s no shaming or judgment over this. We’re all adults here. We all juggle a lot in life. It’s why we have stress
- Reschedule. It’s completely up to you if you want to reschedule or not. We don’t pressure. It’s your choice.
