Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is to determine a level, beginner, intermediate, advanced, or in between. To easy is boring, to hard is frustrating. What teaching method is best? A student can list songs to learn. Thousands of songs from old to brand new in all styles are available in the studio library.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Susan is a member of national, state, and local music teacher associations. She has made appearances as both vocalist and instrumental soloist in various films, play productions, and musical performances. Her career as a voice and piano teacher began in California where she graduated from the University of California. She has worked with choirs as director and accompanist.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Tuition payment with cash, check, or credit card is due at the beginning of each month.
How did you get started teaching?
After performing for many years, I wanted to stay home with my young children, now adults, who are musically active and teach music. I enjoy the magic of teaching, sharing music skills, and student’s success. My goal is to provide instruction to enable each student to achieve whatever objective or dream they define, and to supply the education and insight to meet their potential.
What types of students have you worked with?
She makes music fun and her teaching success rate is outstanding. Many of her students, old and young, are so inspired they continue their music adventure and become professional performers and/or instructors. She motivates students to unmask their natural talent and inspires them to excellence.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy student’s school plays, church, and musical performances. Studio recitals and get togethers for children, teens, or adults are opportunities to share music and meet new musical friends.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Most music students try to become successful all on their own without guidance. Over my 30+ years of music teaching, working with choirs, pageants, talent contests, I know that successful singers, pianist, and guitarist all enjoy outside help. You will be surprised how soon your dream will come true once you seek expert input and put it to use.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Look for a teacher who is truly qualified, spent years in the field, belongs to national, state, and local music teachers associations, and has their own studio. Read the reviews.
