    Frequently asked questions

I like to take an inventory of what the student knows, and what the student would like to learn. Then I'll create a curriculum that fits as necessary.

I can improvise in all 12 keys. I can explain the function of intervals, associated chords, and how to use them. I can teach you basics or how to memorize the fret board in any key. I play advanced guitar and bass, and can do some intermediate keys and percussion tie ins.

I've always tried to share what I've learned. I became obsessed with the "magic" that makes jazz work, and wanted to apply it to different formats. When you trace roots from greats like jimi, jimmy, coltrane, miles... All roads lead to this way of thinking, and i want to share it!

I've mainly worked with teenager and above. I would be willing to take a younger student, if they were focused.

    2020 is over!

My main focus is rock and roll, but it's tinged with alot of underground influences, even though I play standards. I do a little bit of everything, but you'll like me if you're indie, or punk, and maybe even some early metal.

A teacher can help avoid years of mistakes, but there is no substitute for focus and desire to learn. Why do you want to learn? Are you obsessed with music?
