Cranky Crane Yoga And Fitness
About
I like to teach people who are not-quite-so-fit and unbendy. I approach yoga and meditation as a way to increase the quality of your life, build some ease, and have fun while doing it.
I'm not interested in contorting myself or you into postures that put you at risk for injury.
As a yoga teacher along with counselor and massage therapist, I know you hold the information about your body. I will respect that!
I love helping people find comfort and ease in their bodies. Most people do not have the time to go to class every day or the body that would benefit from an intense yoga experience.
The more challenges you bring, the more I'm intrigued.
For a decade, I have been helping yoga students with many different levels of ability and comfort in their bodies develop a fun and healthful yoga/meditation practice.
Our goals are to have fun, soothe our bodies and minds, and build stability so your days and activities are easier than before.

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My goals are always - Safety - and - Let's practice today at a level so we can practice tomorrow!
I have been practicing yoga for 30 years and teaching for a decade. I started my life as a dancer but don't have the body for it.
I have been a licensed counselor for 25 years and massage therapist for 20 years. So I bring to our classes, a thorough understanding of the mind-body connection.
Not being 25, I get how the body changes, how much can be accomplished, and what are unreasonable goals.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For 75 minute classes, I like working with small groups of students, 3-5 students, at $25/student/class.
For 1-hour privates, I have a sliding scale of $50 to $85. We decide on a price together.

How did you get started teaching?
After many years of taking classes and my home practice, my fellow students asked me to start teaching.
I fought teaching yoga for 10 years then finally took my teacher training.
I have taught dance, functional movement privates, and helping golfers develop a comfortable, repeatable movement pattern.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all levels of students from someone who has never taken a class before to 'advanced' classes.
I define advanced yoga as someone who is aware of their body and mind interaction. It has nothing to do with the poses - they are just a path to get there. And there are many paths.
My strength lies in working with students who are older, not quite so fit, unbendy, and have had surgeries or illnesses that they need to recover from or accept the new normal.
