    Frequently asked questions

With new students I first determine their degree of expertise.  If they are beginners, I use the Piano Adventures Method.  This is a very reputable method. For advanced students I use Schirmers classics.

I studied piano for nine years at International Conservatory of Music and at Raisa Olivé Musical Institute in Havana, Cuba. I completed two years of college at University of New Orleans with an
Educationi major. I have taught piano for ten years. Some of my students have achieved very advanced levels.

My price is $22.50 per half hour class plus books and event fees.

I have always loved piano.  It has helped me in difficult times of my life. Friends kept asking me if I taught piano. Most of my life I worked as a legal secretary. I retired and I started teaching friends.

I have worked with very bright students, and I have worked with slow students.  I have also had students who have disabilities.

Several of my students got Superior ratings in Festivals of the Bluebonnet Music Teachers Association. And they performed in Honors Recitals of the BMTA. Some of my students have performed in Ensembles of BMTA. Some of my students have completed all twelve level examinations of music theory at BMTA.

    The teacher must love music.

Is the student interested? Is the student willing to practice?
