Briget B. says, "I love Becky's classes! I've been lucky enough to join her last 8 week series & I looked forward to it every week. I've been practicing yoga for several years but her classes always teach me something new. She has a lighthearted, fun energy, while also being challenging. I love the philosophy she embraces, that we are all students of life& that she is always learning herself. Ive been able to apply a lot of new priciples to my other yoga & day to day life to become better all-around. If you have the oppportunity to practice with her I highly recommend it! " Read more

Hello! I’ve been teaching since 2015. I am 500hr certified, have my CRP/AED/First Aid. I’m also certified in SUP Yoga and more. I am very passionate about using yoga to help my students with injury prevention, to add to their strength, balance, to help ease and calm their minds & bodies. I love working with everyone from athletes to beginners and everyone in between. I also really like to tailor make flows that will benefit each of my students for what they need at that time....

Your Yoga Classes questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

How much do yoga classes cost?

Single group sessions at yoga studios cost $15 to $20 on average. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.

I am a very busy Mom and business woman who was struggling with my appearance and not loving the woman I am. Kathy Hollingsworth has helped me understand not only what my body needs, but also my mind and spirit! She is always there to listen tentatively and helps me see the positive! She has inspired me to have confidence in myself and has given me tools to know what my body really needs and how to love myself again. Because of the work that I did with Kathy, I feel optimistic about my health and future! I’m so grateful for her, I am eager to see what my future holds for me.

I LOVE learning from Leni! She’s great at breaking things down and making yoga easier and more accessible and fun for beginners. But she’s also really knowledgeable and is great for advanced students as well. I would absolutely (and often do) recommend anyone take a class from her. She has a passion for yoga and it shows.
