20+ hours of pelvic floor teacher training with Leslie Howard
I have practiced yoga for many years and have been teaching various styles of yoga for one year. I specialize in yoga for beginners and pelvic floor yoga (great for new moms, people experiencing incontinence, pelvic floor pain, pain during intercourse). I also teach a yoga inspired class called Yoga Groove, which incorporates yoga with dance, plyometrics, and strength training.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I like to know if a student has any prior yoga experience and what his or her expectations are. I also like to know what is his/her level of physical activity, as well as if the student has any injuries, restrictions, or is dealing with past or current trauma that might affect his/her practice. After a general intake, I start working with the student at his or her level practicing asana and teaching the eight limbs of yoga. I create lessons based on the student’s needs and goals tailored to his/her level.

How did you get started teaching?
I practiced yoga at home for many years before having my children. I fell out of practice due to two rough pregnancies and caring for my young children. Feeling the need to care a little for myself too, I obtained my yoga teacher certification and fell back in love with my passion.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of students from beginners to experienced yogis.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a certified teacher you feel you can connect with and feel comfortable with.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
*what are your goals?
*how much time can you realistically commit to your practice?
