What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Parents normally email or calll and setup appointment for a time that works for them and the coach. Or show up to a drop in class after emailing for a location near them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Coach Martin played high school, junior college, and ABA/IBL. Tore his ACL and Achilles well playing and decided to teach the game. Coach Martin has been off and on training kids since 14 years old under different organizations and programs learning different ways to teach and play the game.
What types of students have you worked with?
we work with all students from 4 1/2-23, some really interested in the game and others just beginning and having no idea what they are in for. We also work with players who have a hard time communicating or easily frustrated.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
my very 1st students has received the highest recognition from Stanford basketball camp and he is still interested in becoming better!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
what area is the player looking to improve and how hard is player willing to work to improve.
