I try to keep it funny and laid back.
I specialize in personalization. I cater to each individual with a custom feel with whatever they want to learn at any given time, beginner to intermediate.
If they want to learn their favorite songs, my friends always called me the human jukebox, I know a ton of covers and can help you learn to play your favorite songs from your favorite bands.
If you are just starting out and need to understand the basic fundamentals of guitar, I've been playing for almost 20 years and can help you with that.
If you want to learn some lead guitar, scales, and soloing I can help you with that.
Or if songwriting is your thing, I've written hundreds of complete songs and ideas, riffs, chord progressions, etc for others, and myself. Let's learn the basics of songwriting feel, and working out musical and lyrical arrangements together!
Everything! It's music. It's the driving force that's helped me through so much in my life and what makes everyone's life great. I'm blessed to be involved in music and I'm very thankful for it. Teaching and being a student of music myself, both are rewarding and great experiences.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I cater to the student, each person is different and at a different place in their guitar playing journey, and learns differently. So I try to find out exactly where they are on their musical path, how they learn best, and what they want to learn/do, and what their goals are, and go from there. It's a laid back process and I know that people learn differently and recognize that people might not pick up quickly on certain things like terminology, or strumming patterns, etc so I'm laid back and mellow. I try to make it funny and easy going with humor sometimes.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Everything I've down thus far is all word of mouth recommendations, under the table, business cards, Craigslist ads, online apps such as Thumbtack.com and Lessons.com
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge less than Guitar Center & Sam Ash who charge $55/hr, but I provide the same level of expertise, quality and professionalism.
How did you get started teaching?
I fell into it naturally 10 years ago. Everybody always said I was a good guitar player and would be a great teacher so I decided to give it a go.
What types of students have you worked with?
Everyone from 10 years old to 55 years old and anyone in between.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Getting new students who are starting out from scratch and wanting to learn guitar.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There's lots of instructors out there. I'd say go with who makes you feel comfortable, doesn't make you feel like an idiot, and who you learn best from. Try a few out, go by feel and intuition, gut feeling. If an instructor doesn't resonate with you, move on.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How strong your desire is to learn guitar? It does require time, dedication and a passion for it. If you're dead set on it, then you're good, jump right in, it's a great hobbie and can turn into a fun career! Or you might not be sure about it but fall in love and get excited about picking up guitar after a couple lessons. Go for it either way, try it out and ask some friends or family members who play or ask some instructors. Best wishes!
