I like to ask what within music draws my students to music and what they love about it. I love to teach exercise's and music pieces that free up the fingers making the fingers more nimble to hit the desired notes when a piece is learned with the right fingering.

I have a associates degree in Music, Humanities and Fine Arts. I have played music sinc I was 7 years old and am currently in 3 bands and write my own material.

I usually charge between 30 and 35 a half hour!

I started teaching at Joey's music in La Mesa and wanted to give my students short cuts to success in music.

I currently have a variety of students some piano some Guitar some vocal. I have an older student in his seventies who just had a stroke and I am teaching and retraining him to sing properly and speak with full sentences. It is because of him I have decided to go back to school to get my bachelors degree in Music Therapy and possible a Masters in Music studies. I also teach several children and have a couple of middle aged guitar students as well.

I wrote and played a song for a bass player in my band who passed away. I drove up to Bakersfield where his family lived for the funeral he was a good friend of mine his name was Dean lackey. I got up on stage in front of over 500 people who came to his funeral and played this song where everyone was in mourning but through music was able to celebrate his life as people cried out with joy and happiness  because of the person he was. It was quite an honor and very meaning ful unlike any Trophy I have ever received for music!

Make sure your teacher makes it fun and teaches you what you want music is so big their are plenty of area's to study. Make sure they focus on what you want to learn.

What  their goals may be if the student has any, it is important for teachers to be able to focus on each student individually because we are all different and have plenty of different tastes even within music.
