About
I'm a Yoga Therapist and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist whose work integrates a holistic care approach to pain management and mental health. With over 14 years of experience and working with healthcare professionals to help adults improve and manage their physical, mental and social well-being, I focus on educating others to learn about their bodies and how to heal and be well. My experience includes teaching yoga for chronic pain, orthopedic issues, seniors, those with cancer, and social service, health service and emergency management providers, as well as being part of an interdisciplinary team of doctors, psychologists and physical therapists at an integrated pain care center. I also have extensive experience teaching functional movement and exercise to help improve overall strength and stability. My work combines postures, therapeutic movement, self-myofascial release, breathing techniques, meditation, and Ayurveda.
My goal is to empower others to live a better and healthier life.

Ask for a teacher's credentials and confirm legitimacy of certifications and training experience at www.iayt.org and www.yogaalligance.org. Yoga Alliance provides a good explanation of their training and teaching guidelines here:

The International Association of Yoga Therapists requires 800 hours under an accredited school, as well as an intensive hands-on and mentored practicum curriculum.
