My name is Yama, and I have been coaching recreational gymnastics (beginners - advanced levels) for the past 4 years, and I love my job i-e teaching sports to youngsters!
Also, I am a taekwondo black belt, workout-addict, and besides coaching, I work out 6 days a week!
I've always loved sports and enjoyed learning, I know how exciting it is to learn new skills and progress - so it gives me a great joy and sense of achievement when I see my students master new skills and advance - I know what it means to them, because I have been there!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First of all it is important to make the student feel comfortable, a nice and friendly introductory talk helps a lot. Then, a new student must be evaluated for their strenght, flexibility, and skills first. Based on the evaluation, then it can be determined what skills they need to work on first, what progression drills would be suitable for their level of strength & flexibility, and how often they should practice those skills and drills.
