About
The goal of Accessible Yoga is to make everyone, regardless of age, race, size, physical ability, income, health, developmental disability, or other potentially limiting factors feel welcome in a yoga class so that they can experience the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual benefits of yoga. We use walls, chairs, blocks, bolsters, blankets, straps, and other props to help make poses accessible to all students, and everything we do in class is easily adapted to work for each individual, whether they prefer to stand, sit on the floor, or remain seated in a chair. A variety of options are demonstrated and provided for each pose, and special care is taken to ensure that everyone in class “finds their yoga” and experiences the benefits of this beautiful practice. No matter your situation, you are welcome and included in this class!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before class begins, I make a point to greet each student individually to see how they are feeling and to discuss any issues they may have (injuries, illness, pre-existing conditions). During class, I check-in frequently with students to insure they feel comfortable and confident, and encourage them to ask questions and communicate if they are feeling unsure or uncomfortable as we move through the poses.
