Gabrielle Rivelo Yoga
About
I started my own yoga practice 10 years ago when I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and was not benefiting from any of the medications I was taking. Yoga was and is the only thing that relieved my chronic pain and made me feel like a normal person again. I fell in love with yoga as a practice because it is not just a physical practice, but a physical, mental, and emotional practice. l I offer a variety of yoga sequences to peactioners based on what they need. Similarly I offered variations/modifications to poses and hands on adjusts hat are specific to the individuals anatomy. My goal is to make yoga accessible to anyone who wants to try it and to work to help people rid themselves of whatever they are carrying with them that does not serve them. I am currently 300 hour trained and certified in hot yoga, hot power fusion, and yin yoga. I am starting my 200 hour certification for vinyasa (power) yoga, after which I will be 500 hour trainer and certified. I currently teach yoga at all of the Boulder Corepowers and in Denver at Rocky Mountain Flex Fitness.
I absolutely love what I do, I love being able to help people move in their bodies and work to find physical, mental, and emotional peace.

I have worked with all types of students, people of all different age groups and physical abilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have been really fond of the summer yoga events held by my work Corepower, usually an outdoor class with refreshments afterwards.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher you trust and who is willing to work with where you currently are and not try to force you into anything before you are ready. However you do want a teacher who knows when you can push a little further and then pushes you to your potential.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What their knowledge of human anantomy is, what their goals for their students are, and ehat is the most important part of their yoga practice to them.
