Yoga With Sophie DeFrench
About
Yoga’s has been a passion of mine consistently for the past 7 years. I began my 200 hour training through Shamrock Wellness in 2017 and then lived in Hawaii where I trained under Karin Kuhn and Nadia Toraman for my 300 hour training, at the Maui Yoga Shala.
I have an understanding that every body is different and so I gained knowledge and continue to learn on how to help individuals with their specific needs through personalizing a class/sequence and bringing in the use of props, modifications and adjustments.
Not only do I focus on Asana, but I also teach many breathing techniques and meditation to take on and off the mat into daily living. I like to help people incorporate yoga for a healthier, happier way of living.

How did you get started teaching?
In 2016, I started my 200 hour training which led me to work right under my teachers. I worked for the Prairie Guest House Yoga Studio. I still had a yearning to learn more. I went on to Hawaii in 2018 where I grew in my knowledge of yoga through 300 more hours of training.
After rigorous training, I knew I wanted to work more one on one with people so that they could understand more of beginners work for when they go out to group classes.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with ages 5 to 75. All students are welcome. Bring yourself. If you have injuries, certain needs or anything of the sort, then we will work through it in sequences that are tailored to fit YOU.
