About
I have been teaching Fitness since the mid 80's. I have taught Step, Hi/Low, Strength Training, Pilates and got certified in Yoga in 2011. Yoga is my passion and I love to share it with others. In the past year I became certified to teach Senior fitness and Chair Yoga, Jillian Michael's Body Shred and Reiki Master.
I am a very positive and energetic person and love to meet new people. Teaching yoga has been the most rewarding job I have ever had. I think it makes a difference to my students and it certainly makes a difference to me!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask the new student if he/she is new to Yoga or new to me as a teacher. I then ask the student if he/she has any injuries or issues to share that will enable me to teach with the appropriate modification level. I ask the student if it is ok for me to make physical adjustments or if the student prefers verbal queues only. i make the student feel as comfortable as possible and help them enjoy the yoga experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I completed a 200 hour Yoga Alliance certification in 2011. I also am a Reiki master (since January, 2017). I am certified to teach Pilates and can incorporate some Pilates exercises in the class.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My price is negotiable, starting at 50.00 for an hour class for 1 participant.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching Cardio Dance classes at Elaine Powers in the mid 1980s and then became AFAA certified. In addition to Yoga, I teach Step, Hi/low, Spinning, Sculpt, Circuit, Body Shred and Silver Sneakers Classic and Yoga.
What types of students have you worked with?
i have worked with students of all ages, including children, teens, middle age and Seniors. I have worked with all levels. I teach a multi level class regardless of the format.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is important to feel comfortable with and trust the teacher. The student is the customer and deserves to be satisfied, so communication is key to ensuring that the student gets what he/she paid for. In addition, the student should share any preferences (i.e. style of yoga, pace of class, injuries or health issues) with the teacher.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The student should be clear on their style preference, i.e, vinyasa, pranayama, slow or face-paced, more athletic or not, more spiritual or not.
