How did you get started teaching?
After giving birth to my son I was suffering from intense back pain and sciatica. I felt helpless I neeeded to get back on my toes to cater to my little ones π¨π¨π¦π¦. I found great relief through yoga and wanted to explore more and decided to take the teachers training course. I got my classical yoga training from Shri Santosh Shivaya from Rishikesh the original birth place of yoga. Knowing the purpose of his life at a very young age he was trained by a sage who lived in a Ashram (shrine for yogies and sages). I am proud to be his student!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with kids as young as 5 yrs of age.
I work with women mostly and seniors as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love working with young kids and I recently attend a school based event where kids were taugh yoga. I was so happy to share my knowledge and experience with the Kids.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When the student is ready a teacher will appear. I am a believer of destiny and I feel god always gives us what we need and it may not be what we want.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
A good teacher will modify their approach to meet the students needs. It’s necessary to be transparent and communicate openly with a teacher to develop a good student teacher relationship.
A student should understand that miracles do happen only if you are willing to work hard for it.
Setting simple goals with the guidance of the teacher and marking small achievements will be the way to go.
