Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Playing my original Jazz fusion music at the Blue Note Jazz Club in New York City. My set followed a show featuring Mike Stern and Eric Johnson who stuck around to hear our set!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who will teach you real music and the correct fundementals. Too many teachers are unaware of the most basic tenets of technique and music theory. There are no shortcuts to learning guitar and many online youtube teachers can show you many riffs but offer little of lasting value. I prefer to show students how to create their own music rather than focusing on someone else's riffs.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are their goals and why do they want to learn guitar?
How much time can they spend on daily practice?
Are they willing to stick with it for extended periods of time measured in years?
What types of music to they want to lrean to perform?
