I am committed to seeing each of my students as a unique individual with specific ways of acquiring knowledge. By taking into consideration the "whole child", I tailor my lessons to address your child musically, academically and social-emotionally. It is very important to create a positive atmosphere where your child is not afraid of making mistakes in order to learn and to express him/herself. I totally enjoy engaging your child in the process of learning and creating.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before working with the child, I like to speak to the parent about whatever special needs the child may have, how their child learns best and what their goals are for their child in learning a new instrument. If the child has a specific special education program, I would want to know if there are specific strategies that can help their child learn best so that I can make modifications, accommodations and adaptations when teaching.
When working with a new student, I like to speak to them about why they would like to learn the piano or the guitar and I ask them what types of songs they would be interested in learning along the way.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied music as a child, first by learning recorder, then guitar and piano. I also learned to play trumpet, trombone and baritone horn in school and joined all of the school bands and orchestras. I majored in music at Brooklyn College and received my Master's degree in Special Education from Long Island University.
