I love teaching yoga because of the affect it has on my students.
The poses bring release and breathe. Opening the body, lengthening the body, flexing the body brings renewed energy or Prana.
This affect transformed me, this is why I became a teacher.
Jim has a very friendly and informative style. I’ve been satisfied and happy with my lessons and would recommend him
James is so enthusiastic about his practice that you can’t help feeling good in his class. He is very accommodating of any limitations his students might have and offers modifications as needed and no judgement. He always says “No two bodies are the same”. He is certified in chair yoga and will work with everybody. He had a special talent for working with seniors.
I've never taken a yoga class before learning of James' Senior Yoga Class in Clifton. I am pleased to have been attending for two years now and enjoy the weekly practice with my fellow participants. Whether you do yoga on the floor or in a chair, it will be beneficial to your flexibility as well as a fun class. I would encourage anyone to give it a try.
James adapts the lessons to the members’ ability, mix breathing, gentle stretching and mind-body techniques. I notice that Yoga with James has improved my mood, renewed my energy and affect my overall health and happiness. I am always looking forward to being with fellows Yogi. My doctor says that I would benefit from 2 sessions a week.

I decided to be a teacher of yoga for one simple reason:
The transformation I experience in body and mind.
I wanted to bring this experience to others in my age group.
My teacher and guru, Felise Berman urge me to go and do good, Karma Yoga...
I approched Clifton Senior Center and said I will teach Beginner/Gentle Yoga FREE here in the center to anybody who wants lessons. I teaching ther since last year. LOVE IT!!!!
Most of my students are beginner and senior yogis.
No two students are the same so the teacher must be mindful of the students needs.
I teach with props if needed: belts, blankets, blocks, wall, to ease into asana or pose, which I encourage students to use. This IS call supported.
I love teaching this group because the pace is slower, and the focus is on alignment points of the asana or pose.
I went to a yoga retreat, 4 days in the mountains with 45+ yogis. It was a wonderful!!!
The beauty of this ancient practice is it can be adapted to anybody regardless of one’s physical condition, ability, or age.
If you are seeking yoga lessons be sure to find a school or teacher with teachers who are certified with a minimum of 200 training hours.
Look for a school which offers beginner yoga or gentle yoga.
The teacher is here to serve the student.
