Gabriel's been teaching music for over a decade, both private and schools across NYC. He graduated Magna Cum Laude music and contemporary guitar from the University of Miami, Frost School of Music. He's written for films and television including "Sweet Tooth" (2021), "Marry Me" (2022) a "The Infiltrators (2020) and many more. He's also an active touring recording artist, producer and guitarist with a passion for sharing his musical knowledge with others.
My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the vast improvment in students across the board. That tremendous growth from the lessons and dedicated practice is really rewarding to see.
The next best thing is getting students to the point where they can jam along and improvise over a song that they're passionate about. I encourage students to bring in songs or materials that peak their interest. The first step to learning is curiosity.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A new student will come in and talk about their musical interests and goals. Well break it down into skill sets and learn new songs right away. These lessons are designed to be fun and engaging and also challenging. You will learn what is happening behind the notes (music theory) as well as any song/material you would like to work on. These lessons are 100% about you and your musical objectives.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching guitar for over ten years to all different age groups and skill levels. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in composition, media writing & production, contemporary guitar and American song writing from the University of Miami Frost School of Music. And have been teaching various private lessons and group lessons with ComeJoinTheBand in New York City.

How did you get started teaching?
Ive always been a dedicated guitar player and eventually began teaching when friends would come up to me asking for private lessons. I found explaining concepts and songs to them to be really rewarding and seeing a student improve inspired me to start teaching professionally.
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with younger students (7-16) as well as older students 65+ and everything in between. Some have been very advanced, and others complete beginners. I work with all styles of music and each student has improved greatly in the direction that they aspire to grow.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have had my original songs featured on TV and in movies https://m.imdb.com/name/nm4780039/
I also run a production/recording studio out in Williamsburg entitled PMGRNT Productions LLC where we compose and produce for artists. https://pmgrntproductions.com/
Lastly, I'm working on a new EP to follow up my debut Start Again Album available on all major music platforms.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who suites your needs. Don't get swept up with a teacher who does not cater to you as an individual. Look for someone with a broad knowledge of music and various genres. Someone like me :)
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I want to learn? As a student you'll want to set your own personal musical goals. Ask yourself Who are your favorite musicians? Where skills do you want to work on?
Will my teacher inspire me, will they keep it interesting and challenging for me? How do I get to my goal, and will this instructor help me get there. Know what your inclinations will be and work to achieve your goals.
