AmerikickTM was founded in 1967 by Grandmaster Dennis Tosten and his wife Master Sharon Tosten. Over the past forty years Grandmaster Dennis Tosten has trained with the best martial arts masters in the world including Joe Lewis, Ed Parker, Remy Presas and Dr. Muang Gyi. This has given Grandmaster Dennis Tosten the ability and knowledge to develop the AmerikickTM Karate system which includes curriculums that are based on the traditional arts of Kenpo, Bando, Tae Kwon Do, Shotokan, Wushu, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Filipino Arnis, modern Boxing, Kickboxing and Sport Karate.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Amerikick is a national martial arts association offering professional martial arts instruction and world champion training to men, women and children of all ages. Amerikick Karate in Brooklyn offers a wide variety of programs from Amerikick Tigers (ages 3and 4) and Dragons (ages 5 and 6) to Amerikick Kids (7 through 12) and Adults. All Amerikick programs are age specific and help students, regardless of their ability level, to reach their full potential through the motivational and inspiring classes lead by Amerikick professional and highly trained teaching staff.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Sensei Alex Davydov Master Level Instructor (5th Dan Black Belt)
Sensei Alex is Head Instructor of AmeriKick Karate Studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn. He graduated from Brooklyn College with Honors Degree in Business Management and Finance.
Sensei Alex has been training from the age of 6. His current standings are: 5th degree black belt, 2 time MMA belt holder winning all 7 amateur fights and current BJJ competitor dominating the expert divisions in NAGA. He also holds multiple world titles in sparring, forms and weapons in competition affiliations such as NASKA, NBL and WSKF. His accomplishments do not stop there. Sensei holds a brown belt in BJJ. He also trains and teaches Thai Kickboxing.
