Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Getting to know them first and telling them about myself, teaching style, material suggestions/requirements, and so forth. I want them to be excited to be on this fun journey of learning music!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelor's degree in Music and Songwriting at Berklee College of Music.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
For 30 minute remote lessons I price it at $35, 45 minutes $45 and 60 minutes $55.
How did you get started teaching?
When I was student at Berklee College of Music I was employed as a Peer trainer where I taught and tutored students on Pro Tools, Logic Pro x, Ableton Live and songwriting lessons. I then started teaching offically guitar, vocals, bass and piano lessons at School of Rock and Guitar Center for over a year now in Manhattan and Brooklyn locations.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages! As young as 3 years old, to adults at the age of 60. I am trained well with everyone of all ages and thats the beauty of teaching!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Always get to know them first and let them get to know your goals, preferences, experience, etc... A teacher can act as mentor for you at the end of the day and its important to hire someone you can connect well with.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is good to know what your overall goals are in taking lessons, techniques you really want to learn and get better at, how you learn best and what your weaks and strengths are as a student. Great communication between the two will bring in excellent results.
