About

I am a professional music, and I've been teaching guitar for about 8 years, specializing in Jazz, Blues and Rock (am also familiar with Pop, Funk, Grunge, Brazilian and Middle Eastern music). I also teach composition, music notation, ear training, rhythm and more.

I am currently a senior year student at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC under a full scholarship. Since my arrival to NYC in the summer of 2021 I've worked with musicians such as legendry bassist Reggie Workman, Drummer Matt Wilson and more.

I've taught students of all ages and levels, for short periods of time and for long-lasting ones. Teaching music is one of the most satisfying things I know - helping someone unfold their talent and love of music is extremely inspiring and has taught me a lot that I couldn't have found otherwise about the secrets of this craft.

    To Whom This May Concern,
We are Liat and Assaf Krauss and we are proud to offer our recommendation of Omri Bar Giora to whom we have personally known for a year as our daughters guitar teacher.
Omri met with our 8 years old daughter on a weekly basis, demonstrating great attitude, patience, and open-mindedness. He developed and encouraged our daughters musical creativity, in both performing, composing and lyric writing. He was very responsible and committed to our daughters progress in this field.
We would highly recommend Omri as a musical tutor and teacher.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you should require any further information.
    Sincerely,
    Liat and Assaf Krauss

    Frequently asked questions

Getting to know the person, learning the desires and ambitions and working our way together from there. Each student is different, and I do not teach with a set system that implies the same for everyone.

I did not have official training teaching guitar hands on experience. Besides teaching priavte lessons I've also instructed high school ensembles and produced a musical performed by high schoolers.

I charge 65 dollars per one hour lesson. A student can pay in advance for 4 lessons for a price of 60$ per lesson.

That being said - if a student greatly desires to learn and does not have the means to pay the amount above, I will do everything I can so that the student can continue learning without it being a financial burden.

My first student was the daughter of my father's coworker. Things have evolved from there... Students have since reached me through publishing I've made on social media, through watching me perform or hearing me on a record, and mainly through word of mouth.

All ages and levels - from a 4 year old kid to grown ups of really all ages levels. Most of my students have been either kids/teenagers (beginners and intermediate) and people in their 20's (also at both levels).

Make sure the personal connection is there, so that lessons and development could come naturally and organically, or/and know very specifically what you wish to get out of each lesson.

What music do I like? What made me what to learn an instrument in the first place? What are my intentions regarding practice, time and energy put into my learning proccess? (There is no one correct answer to this!) and how do these intentions match my schedule and daily routine.
