Sam GO Holistic Music
About
My teaching style lies at the intersection of technique, theory, and creativity. A typical lesson might include sight reading, improvisation, composition, or any combination depending on the student's interests. I aim to encourage a growth mindset in my students, whether or not they choose to pursue music on a professional level.
For students interested in expanding their instrumental skills to the recording domain, I offer plentiful knowledge and experience as a producer and sound designer.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start by learning about your individual interest and skill level. From there, I create a lesson plan tailored to get you where you want to be. Absolute beginners can expect to learn how to play the chords to their favorite songs. More experienced students can expect a deeper exploration of modes, scales, and harmony.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Eigth years of private lessons, gigging, and extensive study of my instrument.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The first lesson is free so as to determine if it's a good fit. After that, I charge $40 per hour lesson, with a $20 cancellation fee.
How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching in my mid-teens as a band director and youth mentor for Samz School of Rock and iJam Music School in my hometown of Salinas, California.
What types of students have you worked with?
